Living sustainability at the Biohotel Leutascherhof

Sustainability. Nowadays this word is all too often used, as a “green promise” it adorns product packaging and yet is nothing more than empty words. Not so in the Leutascherhof, the Tyrolean eco-hotel: In our case, the buzzword “sustainability” promises a very conscious attitude that permeates our entire hotel operation. Every day, we ensure greater sustainability.

Eveline and Christian Wandl run the Leutascherhof in Tyrol according to their own philosophy and orient their daily work accordingly. For the hosts, running the Biohotel Leutascherhof sustainably provides great personal satisfaction.     What does sustainability in running a hotel look like?

    • 100% of the food used comes from controlled organic cultivation, 80% of which is of Austrian origin.
    • A large part of the food used is purchased from regional producers who market their products directly.
    • In addition to organic products, foods - such as chanterelles - from the region’s wild offerings, are also used.
    • The fish comes exclusively from sustainable wild catch. The conscious choice of fish protects the stocks in seas and lakes.
    • In the year 2019 we were able to run the Leutascherhof climate neutrally through a reduction of our CO2 emissions and the purchase of certificates.
    • The entire energy requirement of the hotel is covered by green electricity.
