Our alpine hut in Tyrol –
where the famous “Kaiserschmarrn” has a soul.

Some places don't need the spotlight – they simply shine on their own.
The Hämmermoosalm, our alpine hut in Tyrol, is one such place. It is our very own special place in the Gaistal valley, at around 1,400 metres above sea level, surrounded by larch forests, alpine meadows and mountain peaks that feel like real-life postcard motifs.

Up here, it's not about staging, but about authenticity. About warmth. And about taste that doesn't try too hard – but touches the heart.

The Hämmermoosalm is a hut with character – and cuisine that warms the heart. Everything served here is regional, authentic and made with love.

The Alm is run by Eveline Wandl – with passion, genuine hospitality and a history that dates back to the 1960s. Her grandparents used to run the Hämmermoosalm. You can feel this connection. In every detail. And in every smile.

How to get to our alpine hut in the Gaistal?

We can only be reached by e-mail during our opening hours: alm@die-haemmermoos.com

Important: There are no overnight accommodations available at the Hämmermoosalm.
Your adventure to the alpine hut in Austria begins at the Salzbach/P5 car park in the Gaistal valley, which is easily accessible by regional bus 433 or by car (subject to a fee).

In summer, you can reach the alpine hut via the idyllic Ganghoferweg trail in around 35-40 minutes through fragrant forests and across flowering alpine meadows. If you have a pram or bike with you, it is best to take the forest path.

In winter, the toboggan run leads directly into the valley – an experience that will make not only children's cheeks turn red. And by the time you stop for a bite to eat, it will be clear that anyone who doesn't stop here is really missing out.
